The Chippewa School District received $25M in funding via a local levy and the State of Ohio for the new 7th-12th grade Chippewa High School, which is approximately 101,000 SF and supports 640 students. This project also included a $3.5M, 11,000 SF performing arts center which was locally funded. The total project cost is $28.5M for an overall 112,000 SF facility.
The new school features 21st century education design in classrooms and administrative offices, chemistry labs, a full cafeteria and kitchen, performing arts theater and gymnasium. The building is served by a high efficiency chilled water plant, condensing heating water boiler plant, and a non-proprietary building automation system. PTA Engineering provided MEP Engineering, Bidding and Construction Administration services in collaboration with the construction manager, CT Taylor. The project is designed for LEED Silver certification.
