The Fine Arts Building Addition and Renovation project for KSU Stark included a 16,000 SF addition and 18,000 SF of renovations. The new addition, primarily made up of music classrooms, practice rehearsal rooms and art gallery, required significant coordination efforts and acoustical considerations due to the existing building's limitations and the use of space. PTA Engineering provided project management, MEP engineering, bidding, and construction administration on this project.
The renovated areas of the existing building involved demolition of the existing electrical services and new installation of lighting, receptacles, equipment wiring, voice/data system, and fire protection system. The addition consisted of new electrical distribution, lighting, receptacles, equipment wiring, voice/data system, and fire protection system.
HVAC for the renovated areas was provided via the existing air handling units within the facility. The terminal air distribution system was reworked to accommodate new heating/cooling/ventilation loads. The new addition is served from an existing (re-purposed) air handling unit.
